Now its hideous and hard to use.

This is a really broken client. The old one wasnt pretty but at least it worked. Im now resentful that I have to use this since gmails private API is so much faster than their IMAP access. Consider switching to Spark by Readdle if youre in the same boat (or FastMail). Cant copy or edit inline replies - this is the only email client Ive ever used with this limitation. Notifications still broken; opening the app via notification does not mark the message as read or clear the notification badge. Replying is hard: Its the second most important function of this app, and you have to scroll for 5-10 seconds to do it - and lots of emails append long footers, disclaimers, etc. so this is super common. // seems fixed if you explore the mystery meat ellipsis next to each thread component. Starring: when you star a message, it now stars the whole conversation, making unstarring it in the web client tedious. Default view: no way to set your default view to "everything"; it just reverts to "important and unread". Notifications: when you receive a new mail notification and tap it, you are brought to the app at the top of the thread, so you have to scroll all the way to the bottom manually. Also this doesnt always mark the message as read. Mystery meat: the sender icons in the main list view are secretly checkboxes, turning a common touch target for message navigation in to a hidden selection control. Swiping: way too sensitive. Accidentally archived many messages when trying to navigate the main list view.

I really have hated this update. The app somehow retains delay in responding as drafts such that you have 4-5 drafts built up for any normal response. These drafts then sit in the inbox, cluttering up the display. Its highly annoying and if I could go back to an older version I would. The older version had significant issues too - such as the fact that you could not easily view earlier notes in a chain. ugh ugh ugh.

it is hard to change between multiple mail accounts, i looked for new app and i found outlook it is better than this, this was better before..

The program was working just fine before update. Now it fails to download attachements. Ever try to delete it by swapping left? Dont! Goes right into archieve. The conversational mails are grouped, no way to seperate different emails. Strongly recommended not to upgrade

Deleting now hidden under long tap. Cosmetic changes for the sake of change. Pretty much unusable. The new ui is cartoonish, harder to use and pathetic. This update serves google instead of the users. Just bring the old version back and dont touch it.

I would like to use "everything" as the default tab like in previous version, but all i can see is "unread" by default.

You can archive mails from the lock screen without unlocking phone. In the other words anyone can clean your incoming mails and you wont even have idea he did that. Thats riddiculous!!!! Still no way to show only who sent mail without the message itself on lock screen. Privacy is a century back in this app. No way to change important and unread default box to all mail. Everytime I can see dozens of incoming mails and default box is empty. Have to touch menu, change to all and then look for new mails. Long touch for delete/archive many mails is annoying.

It can crash when I open it, it can crash when I finally manage to open a message, it can crash when I want to write a message, it can crash when I try to send the message. I do not think I managed to stay in gmail for longer than a minute yet, after the update - it is like a roulette, whether it will let me do anything, and it just crashes, crashes, CRASHES.

- its slower - usability is worse - left menu -unreadable - swipe between emails- doesnt work - last but not least, thats my personaal opinion, it looks bad :(:(:(:( Im disappointed

Congrats on the new version, where great features are removed and stupid ones are introduced. Usef to swipe left to remove message and swipe right to archive? Forget it, every direction does the same thing now and you can obly change it in settings! Want to navigate to next or previous email by swiping in desired direction? FORGET IT, as swiping in message view does NOTHING now. GREAT UPGRADE GUYS MUCH UPDATE VERY USEFULNESS

Theres no longer an option to make an email unread anymore - not functional for me now.

What a dissapointment :/ The new version is just wrong. Everytime im opening the app it shows only "unread" messages why not all with new on top as always? I need to go to menu and all every time? Is this a joke? No checkbox to quickly delete messages. I need to hold a tab to go into edit mode? Really? Why make something simple so complicated?

Ugh...why did you change it? Its unclear. It was much way better before an update :/

With this new version, you have to scroll all the way down to the end of an e-mail, to get to the Reply/Forward buttons, instead of having them available in the top bar along with e.g. the Mark As Unread button. This is very annoying.

Oh, thank God I cant send a message with an attachement file from dropbox or another app. Who would do that...
