When you open an email from the lock screens dont delete it, it still shows that the email has not been deleted in the gmail app. You have to click on it again and delete it for the email to go away.

I read news from gmail and it used to open links in a gmail browser which was great because I dont need 20 extra tabs open in Chrome which is what it does now. Hate this. There needs to either be a way for those new tabs to auto close when you hit back to gmail or bring back the gmail browser.

Please. I loved the old app. Please go back. The amount of things that are horrible about the update are innumerable.

Change this gmail app back to the way it was. What are you people doing?

All my emails in one place, so much better than apples email app

Accidently upgraded. So sad for me. The reason I never went to Inbox App was because of all the redundent little things that popped up and cluttered the screen. I dont need to see the pictures or big letter of whos its from. It says who its from right next to it. All the bright colors kind of mutes the difference between read and unread. I have hundreds of emails to go through daily. It was 50% easier to read in version 4. Extra button to immediately start deleting multiple emails is a little annoying. The rest is OK. Works, but not as usefull. Feel like the newer version is for non-power email users. Its like Gmail version of Windows 8 update they thought would be the breakthrough for their users, but turned out to be crap. Youve already gone this far, either delete this app and force everyone to go to Inbox App, or revert it to the old GUI. Sadly, Ill probably be going back to Outlook in the mean time. I miss you Gmail. =(

Update makes the app look cleaner but without proper notes about new features, the UI is confusing

I cannot even use the app because whenever I try to read old emails (I tried with multiple different one), the app crashes and if I try to start all over again, it continues to crash in the exact same spot.

Google has taken a huge step backwards with these updates. I do photography and constantly send jpgs, now the app inserts the images and significantly reduces the file and image size to the point that the images received on the other end are small, pixelated and look horrible

The ability to open links in Chrome has returned and so, I have returned to using the Gmail app! I have no idea why there is so many negative reviews. I love the new interface. The only reason I stopped using the Gmail app was because the ability to open links in Chrome was removed. I would highly recommend this app if Gmail is you primary email provider or if you Gmailified your email account.

I hate the update, is just more colourful but useless!!!! A lot of crashes and notifications stays on after opening the app, it doesnt allow you to copy a body of a message!! Bri g the old version!!!!!

I deleted and moved to another app. After several years of loving it, the update essentially ruined it.

This new version is a complete mess. When I open my email I want to see which emails are the most recent instead gmail has all kinds of junk and it is very difficult to find your latest emails.

Well I was so happy with gmail for years because it was like the desktop version I enjoy, heck it even had a built in version of chrome. Now it calls out chrome to open links separately. Basic functionality has been stripped away. My sig is gone. This is that garbage version I was avoiding all this time, now forced on me in an update. Great.

Why would the do that? The previous one was perfectly simple and cool. This new update is not useful at all.

Two things about the most recent version: links open directly in the Safari app (so much better than before), and now theres a separate button for "Mark as unread" (which I use all the time so thats nice). Also sending pictures from the photos app is great. Overall way better than that awful built-in Mail app. I dislike the new color scheme, but if all I can complain about is the colors, thats pretty decent.

I just tryed to sign in but it did not let me it said i already had other emails in it or something iff this is a bug plz fix

I really hope they fire their UI design team on this "upgrade". Its positively awful. Wasting precious real estate with stupid icons that are useless. Why? Settings are non-existent. This version should be reverted immediately. Absolutely positively hate everything about the in of design here. The designers need a new gig. They clearly dont k ow what theyre doing. Who hired these people?

Clean and easy to use.

I find it annoying that I cant do a "delete all" for my spam folder. One by one-doesnt work. Secondly, I kind of like seeing all of my different emails in one fell swoop. Its not a big deal, but having to tap back to see the other set of emails doesnt work for me either.
