I like the new look and everything but it is quite infuriating to not be able to download pictures/videos from an email. Its not sensible to not be able to save images on the app. It is such a hassle to have to switch apps to download please please please fix this

I cannot handle the new visual design. The red is too much and all the circles and arcs give it a confusing feel. I liked the previous version better. Can you tone it down a bit? I feel like they released their next April fools joke early.

Wtf is with this update? I cant open my Adobe pdf files without it crashing the whole app! This update has made this app garbage!

Good email app for my multiple accounts

1) Emails no longer always readable on mobile. Some look like using web login for desktop on mobile - too small to read. 2) emails are now threaded - in desktop I have it set to Conversation View off (so each email is separate) - now I dont get that option 3) Calendar invites from Outlook users now just an attachment - no details in email Disappointing. Was great. Now not so much.

The old gmail client was good and allowed me to switch between 5 email accounts (personal, work, 2 community, 1 blog, and sometimes 1 sports association). Now I need to tap more as not all 5 icons are displayed at the same time without *TWO* *additional* taps. One tap turned into three for common action of switching between five mailboxes! I pay for two 1TB Dropbox accounts and was going to switch to Google Drive. No longer!!

This app I got for free now I gotta pay for the update what kind of scam are you running

This update is so terrible Im going to delete and go back to apple mail app. You made a simple app more complicated. I have to click so many times to delete or move my mail. Epic fail.

Latest update is terrible. Cannot edit forwarded or return emails. Cannot download attachment. Menu does not offer choices. Select does not works nor delete key. Have used gmail since 2005 but have to switch to other email now because it does not work properly on my iPad or iPhone.

Since the last update, its not possible to edit messages before sending them.

As others have commented, this new version has broken or removed some key functionality, making it a less useful communications tool. Signatures no longer sync with gmail web interface, and dont support HTML, so corporate branding fails. Limited options for how to open and work with attachments. Doesnt access iOS contacts. You cant select text or place cursor in quoted message when replying, so no interspersed responses. As a GSuite customer Ive put in tickets with Google Support. The response has been poor they keep saying their engineering team is working on a fix and it should be in place within a week or so. They then later send an update saying its a more complicated issue and a fix isnt expected until later. End of January is now the target. Ive asked for access to the older version in the meantime (they could do this through Apples TestFlight developer tool or by releasing the older version as a different app) but they have not been willing to do so. Very frustrating. I question their development planning and process, as the released product is just so bad. I do like the fact that click to call now works.

Cant paste into a body of an email. Cant copy from the original email within the reply. App defaults to Unread mail every time it refreshes. Boo. And hiss.

In addition to the ruined UI (which was fine before), you cannot edit a forwarded message anymore. Its either delete or create a new one. Cant even copy the original and paste it into a new email for editing. Cant mark emails as unread anymore either. Wish I could back this update out.

The new update is terrible- as well as incredibly ugly, and too all over the place. I hope they change it back, as that version was far better. Only has one star because I have to give it one :(

Everything works how its supposed to.

New layout is a big step backwards. Fewer emails fill screen so not as easy to see everything at a glance.

The update is great! The new sound was especially awesome, but now the old terrible sound is back for some reason. Please enable the new sound again, I hate the old sound and was so happy when the app got the new sound.

Newest update horrible. Cant access contacts from iPhone. Cant edit. Its just the worst ever. The best version was 4.40. So many other one star reviews say it all. If I had my preference Id give it MINUS 5 STARS

The old layout didnt have multiple colours to look at, but now it does. I cant choose an option just by glance and the app gives me a headache. It looks like I wont be checking my email on my phone anymore. Especially when there isnt an option to customize the layout to make it easier to look at.
