i dont know what you had in your minds when you started make changes in the app... links in newsletters are so small that you cant see what is the link about, wheres the zoom in zoom out option on single message displayed?? and why it is not openning chrome as it did before...?

App is worth nothing when you use more than one account.

Its buggy. Cant save pdf file to iBooks anymore :/

"Here are some reasons why I want to revert back to my previous Gmail format: 1. The old Gmail iPhone appearance looks more like what I have on my PC. It functions great. The new format on my iPhone looks entirely different. It has these stupid round pictures on the left of every email that I cannot figure out how to eliminate. These prevent me from recognizing the sender. The round letters make too many email senders look alike, causing me to get them all mixed up because there are so many Js, Ms, Ss. I do not want to have to add a different picture to every stupid round letter. What a waste of my time. 2. All my emails do not appear when I open my email on my iPhone. Only the unread ones, so every single time I look at my iphone gmail I have to request to see everything. This was not the case before. This is inconvenient and quite annoying. How do you mark an email as unread? I am used to keeping all the important emails as unread so they are easy to spot, stay at the top, and dont get pushed down to the bottom. 3. I cannot check off a bunch of emails that I need to delete, and delete them all at once on my iPhone anymore-- I have to open each individual email, one at a time, one at a time, one at a time, and delete this one, and then the next one and the next. There is not a fast way to swipe and delete. There is only a fast way to archive. I never used archive before, and I dont want to start using it now. I cannot locate all the accidentally archived emails, and I do not want them stored somewhere on my phone or in my Gmail. I dont want to archive. I want to delete a lot of emails at once when I am on my phone. I only have access to my home computer once a week. I need to clean up my email daily, not weekly. 4. Everything with the iPhone and Gmail is getting cutesier and cutesier, and that makes it less and less functional. Great if you are a 12 year old and you have nothing to do but sit on your bed, stare at your phone, and play around with it... but an adult who works 70 hours a week, and in addition to that does all the house work, lawn work, cooking, shopping, and errands wants an email that is fast, functional and familiar."

I want to go back to version 4.4!!

New outlook is worst..... it is colorful like for kids and irritating. It is moved iPad version to iPhone. Unfortunately I didnt use iPad version because it has been useless app

Usually I dont write reviews, but decided to write this one as gmail app is one of my most frequently used and it is AWFUL!!!! Not handy AT ALL!!! All the basic features like edit the message which you reply or forward are just not available or highly limited etc. Google, please just renew an interface of the old app if you want to update smth at this stage but dont disable the must features calling it an update.

Where has the "mark as unread" button gone?? Have basically stopped using this app it is so bad.. I much preferred the previous version and regret updating.

This update has made me seriously consider leaving gmail entirely. I rely on gmail to do my work and this update has completely undone all the the categorization Ive put in place to stay on track with my work. This is counterproductive. Horrible product.

Interface is horrible. I want to see inbox, sent, all mail, trash and spam labels on the first screen, plus all my custom labels. Deleted this app until they offer gmail lite or something.

The new updates took a very user-friendly app and turned it into one I hate even opening. The worst feature is that there is no longer a way to easily delete messages. As far as I can tell, you have to open email to delete it. All you can do is archive them, and, lets be honest, who really uses that feature? Another issue is that if you have multiple accounts, it is difficult to switch between them. I have four emails for various things, and I cant get to the fourth one without switching to the second or third one first. It just wont let me. One last complaint is the new color scheme. That may sound silly, but I liked the clean look before. Now the google app is the digital equivalent of walking into a chain Italian restaurant that has badly rebranded itself in order to seem more authentic. Bleh. I wish I could undo this whole update!

The Gmail app used to be pretty good. Not amazing, but it was clean and did everything you would expect it to. After the new update, the entire interface is a mess and there is zero sense of functionality left. For example, there are no checkboxes next to emails. To select something, you must first press and hold it to perform an action. If you want to empty your Trash folder, you must first wait several seconds for the words "Empty Trash" to pop down on their own from the top of the screen. Instead of just having a button already there. The left side of the screen, which has all your folders, is now large, cluttered, and in the way. I constantly have to scroll up to get to my inbox. And everything has an icon instead of being a simple list. I could go on, but all in all, this UI overhaul turns every simple task into an annoying chore.

Since the update on November 30th I can no longer open any of my emails that have attachments. This is a huge problem since this is a work email. Please fix this issue asap! Also stop auto updating! It should be optional, not everyone wants or even likes the new updates.

This used to be an ok, though basic, app. Now after the update - presumably to make it prettier? - its almost useless. There is no way to edit emails to remove all the forwards and previous emails. It never ceases to amaze me when big companies update apps to make them less useful.

Unfortunately the beautiful and useful old design suddenly changed to a new update which is more unusable and has not the flexibility of previous version. Not possible to edit/copy/paste of forward/reply an email. The new design using lots of colors. Place of everything changed. In all emails ask for (including attachment or not). I am doing all my jobs through gmail app on my iphone but now i changed my mind to use another app.

So, we lose major functionality, and it looks like a clown threw up on a kindergartners classroom wall. It actually physically hurts my eyes. Uninstalling.

The new display and look is way too colorful. Harder to skim through email now. Its an information overload with all these colorful icons and symbols forced into a small display window. Wish I could downgrade.

The previous version had a clean interface that worked well. This new version has an ugly, garish interface that looks as though a 10-year old designed it. Please bring back the old Gmail app!
