Update: For some reason, does not let one print attachments. Gmail sorts priority mail extremely well (with some minor exceptions). What needs to be addressed is the ability to recover links and graphics from spam. Even when corrected as "not spam," the graphics and links remain impotent. Even Googles own InBox allows graphics and links from spam to be voluntarily revived. As it is, the workaround is to use Apples Mail app or InBox.

Finally, the Gmail app has adaptive text...well, sort of. If adaptive text worked as it should, text in this app would render exactly as it does in the default email app. Sadly, this doesn’t work. Without increasing your adaptive text settings, the text in Gmail is much smaller than text in other apps. And if you increase the adaptive text size more to compensate, then text in other apps is HUGE. Yes, it’s an improvement, but it’s still not correct. Additionally, as many have mentioned here, the notifications badge on the app icon simply does not work properly. Its turned on in notifications, but when an email arrives, I get a home screen notification but no badge icon. The other problem is that you can not email contact groups you have configured in Gmail. For those who email groups often, this is a major shortcoming. Why you can do this in Gmail but not in the official Gmail app makes no sense.

Please stop the browser selection option from resetting constantly. It has become exceedingly annoying. Ive selected it once, the setting needs to hold. The value of the app vs the native iPhone mail isnt there anymore.

Normally I love Gmail but I’ve been having the worst experience trying to send timely emails because apparently you guys thought it funny to only be able to attach photos from the “Moments” folder. Where the heck did the option for attaching photos from your camera roll go?? This is why I hate updates.

This is the only problem with the otherwise fine app. The attitude of Google company is to keep preserving trash even when customer insist a particular email is of no use to him or her. Keeping buildings green and power source renewable does not make a company earth friendly but practices like easy delete an email on swipe action does! Hope they learn otherwise God help such developers to gain some common sense!

Maybe I’m the only one who uses different symbols to denote different action items in my inbox, but I think the iOS app should display multiple types of stars next to the emails in your inbox. This is a minor discrepancy between the browser version and iOS functionality.

Every time I click a link it asks if I want to use Chrome or Safari. It wont save my preference !!! Please help!!!

I like this app but whenever I click a link in it it always asks me “Ask me which app to use every time” and I unselect that so it doesn’t BUT IT STILL DOES. Please fix

Just use the Apple email app. I check my phone or get a notification that I have an email and it turns out to be a paid ad from somebody. Seriously Google. Because you just don’t make enough money so you now have to put ads in an email app! Don’t support them.

Works great! Have had absolutely no problems.

I use the browser version on my iPad, since the app functions are so limited. There is no option to to open a word document in word, for example, just the option to save it to google drive. Apps are supposed to be more convenient than using the browser, this is not. Pay attention Google, people care about whether they can attach and download documents to and from emails!

Every single time I click on a link in an email I now have to chose whether to open the link in Safari or download Chrome - even though I turn off the “ask me this every time” option. Very frustrating.

I would give this 5 stars if every time I opened a link it didn’t ask me about downloading Chrome. I have toggled the thing at the bottom to not ask me every time, but it doesn’t work.

Since one of the latest updates, the first email in my list of emails in every category, like primary, promotions, updates, etc., automatically opens. I hate this! Sometimes I just want to take a quick look at my emails to see what is in there and label them. I dont want them automatically opened, causing me to have to repeatedly select them and mark them unread. The fact that Im suffering from repetitive stress pain makes this much worse, as every touch to my iPad screen hurts, worsening with every touch. Now I have a lot of extra touching because of having to mark things as unread repeatedly. Get rid of this annoying and painful feature!

I cannot tell you how many emails and responses I have dropped the ball on simply because I cannot turn off this “feature” in the app. I have it turned off for my desktop, but no option exists within the phone app.
