Gmail - Email by Google App Reviews

My principle beef: every time I tap a link in an email, a dialog pops up to choose which browser to use -- Safari or Chrome (which is NOT installed). Theres a toggle "ask every time" which I always toggle to "Off" before selecting Safari. The app always toggles it right back on. Google is f**king DETERMINED to shove Chrome in my face. No wonder I quit using it.

I know one day it will be even better but for now its pretty good. Although if you are an air head like me its easy to get a little tripped up on anything. I still struggle to figure out where to reply and forward email because there is a three dot button to push before your can do that.

You can do everything with gmail on your iPhone.

I like gmail but without the ability to disable remote images, Ill be looking for a different email client to access my gmail accounts.

I am enjoying my experience with the app, is easy to work for a 69 years old with very limited technology grandma. Thanks

Despite giving me the option to not prompt every time I click a link in an email, It forces me to either open in safari or download chrome. I dont have chrome, I dont want chrome, just respect my selection to use safari and stop bugging me.

It works fine. No major complaints.

I’ve tried 6-8 different emails over the past 10yrs and G-Mail is the best by far. As we all know,junk mail is a problem. But if you have g mail it’s no longer a problem

App keeps asking which browser I’d like to use to open links (safari or chrome) even when I ask the app not to ask... huge pain. Fix it please!

I’ve been using gmail for longer than I can remember. I believe I started when it was in the beta phase. No matter the file size it’s always worked very well. From time to time people change ISP’s and if you’re using their email you haft to change all your addresses and contact. With Gmail everything is in one easy to access place no matter who your ISP is.

Unfortunate that every time I click on a link that requires a web browser it asks me to choose safari or install chrome. Even if I turn off the “ask me every time” option. I wish that dialogue box could be disabled completely.

Update 3/5/2018: Still no ability to turn off conversation view. Stupid. ———— Update 11/7/2016: I installed this new redesigned update. Still no ability to turn off conversation view. This is terrible. Why cant there just be a toggle just as their is in the website? Or, why cant the iOS app default to what your setting is set to on the gmail website. Stupid. ------------ I pay for a google premier app account. Their iOS app does not allow you to turn off conversation view, as their web browser does allow you to do. Why cant I turn off conversation view? I would love to not use the Apple mail app, but with continued lack of ability to turn off conversation view, the Gmail app is unusable for me. I cannot process email in this manner. Its pathetic that so many people have asked and begged for this ability, there are websites focused entirely on getting google to turn off conversation view. Listen to the people, Google. Conversation view is stupid.

This app used to be great, now it’s almost unusable. It locks up constantly. Please fix.
